Hey there! This site is fantastic--thank you for all your hard work!
One thing I'd love to see is the option to show both literal and non-literal translations. For the translation I'm working on right now, I had to go a little farther afield from the text than usual due to words not existing in Sindarin. I'd prefer to post the original English without alteration, but I think it would make things harder on my fellow learners. At the same time, though, the literal translation loses some of its poetry.
So, tl;dr: two columns for the original language would be fantastic.

This is an interesting idea. I like it.
(edit: The simplest way to do this at present is to use the 'Notes' field. You can put a note such as "Lit: to possess" on any words that aren't a direct translation.)
Thinking about it more, in some ways it would clutter the screen too much to have 5 columns competing for the width of your monitor. Already now with 4 columns it can be cluttered at times. But what I could do, more simply, is have the third column (Alphabet column) have flexible input.
So if you enter direct text into it that doesn't match an alphabet character, it would show directly as text in the post. That way the Alphabet column is either a text column or a symbols/characters column. And the title of the column (which now says Tengwar/Angerthas) is already editable from the admin panel, so it can match the input needed.
We'll see! I'll be selling my home soon and maybe have funds left over to fund version 2.

(I could have sworn I had this set up to notify me when I got replies....)
Thank you very much for your consideration. And good luck selling your home!
